Why?

This app was created purely out of my own necessity/desire for a simple application that I could use with my “dumb” bike trainer that would provide me with a virtual power number that I could use to create structured workouts to train with, and provided a satisfying user experience. Hence, Just The Watts was born.

What equipment Is required?

All you need to get started using JTW is a bike (duh), a bike trainer, a bluetooth speed sensor, and either an iPhone or iPad.

Can I connect my power meter?

Yes! After seeing that many potential users already have a power meter, or smart trainer, that still want a simple solution to structured trainer workouts I have spent the time to build power meter support into the app. You can now connect your power source via bluetooth to Just The Watts and record power, cadence and speed, all from one source.

Virtual power is great, but what are some other features?

With JTW you have the ability to create custom workouts based off of your FTP to add structure to your training. You can also link your Strava account and upload workouts directly after finishing.

What if I want a copy of my workout?

JTW does create a .FIT file for every completed workout. These can be retrieved by plugging your iPhone/iPad into a computer and accessing the JTW file folder with either iTunes (Windows), or Finder window (Mac).
